The AIHce 2019 (American Industrial Hygiene Conference & Exposition) was held in Minneapolis, MN from 18th – 23rd May. Many industrial hygienists and occupational health specialists from all over the world were gathered to exchange information, explore new topics and ideas, and look for the latest technology and tools.
At the Conference, as always, there were indeed many interesting presentations on various topics presented for the education sessions. This year, one of the standout topics was presented by Mr. Ian Pengelly from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) in the United Kingdom. “Development of Equipment for Testing of Short Term Gas Detector Tubes Using ISO EN17621”.
Short-term gas detector tubes are widely used to provide quick measurements of harmful gas concentrations in the workplace. For the purpose of the investigation, the apparatus used was the GASTEC Gas Generation system called Permeator and the Gas Detector Tube system.
The HSE tested four kinds of GASTEC Detector Tubes; Ammonia, Benzene, Sulphur Dioxide, and Trichloroethylene to evaluate the performance and verify the effectiveness of our tubes in workplace atmospheres.
If you would like to have detailed information about the Gastec Gas Generation system Permeator and Gastec Gas Detector tubes, the HSE test on GASTEC tubes or ISO 17621 “Workplace atmospheres – Short term detector tube measurement systems – Requirements and test methods”, download the presentation.
